Why you should incorporate squalane oil into your skincare routine
It feels like every couple of years the beauty industry introduces the latest and greatest product we should use in our everyday skincare. What’s the newest product for 2020? You guessed it, squalane oil.
What is squalane oil?
We are not the only living being to produce squalene, you know. It can be sourced from sugar cane, olives, rice bran, wheat germ and shark liver! That’s right, historically, most beauty brands were getting their source of squalene from shark liver. Thanks to technology, our squalene is sustainably sourced and plant-based. At b.tan we love to b. green and are committed to sustainable beauty for everyone.
Squalane vs Squalene?
That’s not a typo! So what’s the difference? Squalene is what our bodies produce naturally but unfortunately is an unstable molecule, meaning it will oxidize and quickly become unusable. But squalane is the stable version of squalene by hydrogenating it. This process makes the oil easier to use and incorporate into your favorite beauty products.
Why you should be using it
The biggest benefit of incorporating squalane oil into your skincare routine. It’s natural, lightweight, will brighten your skin, help reduce acne and has incredible anti-aging properties.
I mean, when doesn’t your skin benefit from hydration? Think about it, our bodies are already creating squalene, making squalane oil the most natural product we can use to boost our skin’s moisture.
You can also incorporate it into your hair care routine too! Use a little bit at the ends of your hair to help reverse split ends from heat damage and give your hair some nice shine.
How we’re using it
Our commitment to skin doesn’t stop at tanning, you know… we want you to b.clean wherever you go. Here at b.tan, we’ve used our place in the skincare world to expand the work we do to create and provide products to keep our customers clean & healthy. We’re excited to expand our brand further into beauty and self care and developed our newest product “i don’t want germs on my hands” gel hand sanitizer and foam hand sanitizer. We’ve formulated our products with hydrating aloe vera and revolutionary squalane for the most moisturizing hand sanitizer out there. Our hand sanitizer is now available in the US.
