Tanning Tips for your Winter Wedding
Roaring fires, rustic hues and twinkling fairy lights… if you’re heading down the aisle during the festive season, read on for our guide to achieving the perfect tan for your winter wedding!
Getting a professional spray tan
Deep, dark winter tan or a natural-looking golden hue? Speak with your spray tan professional about your desired color depth and skin finish, so they can truly tailor your tan. MineTan Professional spray tan solutions use skin-true shade technology that adapts to your individual skin tone, ensuring your tan result is unique to you.
It’s a good idea to book in for a trial spray tan a few weeks before your wedding, to be sure you’ll love the final result. We also recommend getting your wedding-day spray tan 2-3 days before the big day, to make sure it has fully developed and settled into the skin.
The whole bridal party getting a tan? Why not treat yourselves to a pre-wedding, hen or bachelorette spray tan party so that you’re all glowing for the big day?
Tanning treatment at home
If you’re tanning at home, start by thoroughly prepping skin to make sure it’s primed for tan application. Lightly exfoliate to smooth and get rid of any dry skin, before applying a small amount of moisturizer to drier areas like the knees and elbows. Use the velvety smooth Bronze On Applicator Mitt to apply your self tan foam in a sweeping circular motion for even, streak-free application and keep a light touch over the hands and feet!
Unsure which self tan foam to go for? Our top picks for a winter wedding are Caramel Self Tan Foam for a sun kissed, golden skin finish, or mega-nourishing and hydrating Wonder Tan Self Tan Foam for a deep, long lasting tan.
Psssst…! Our insider’s top tip? If your hands and feet tend to look patchy, try using MineTan’s Rose Illuminating Facial Tan Mist to finish your application. Hold 20cm away and spritz in a circular motion, before evening out with your Bronze On Applicator Mitt.
Make your tan last longer
Whether you’ve had a professional spray tan, or tanned at home, the secret to prolonging the life of your golden glow is to stay hydrated, keep skin moisturized and lightly exfoliate every other day, starting 3 days after you first applied your self tan foam. Drink plenty of water and use a gradual tan to top up your color, alongside regular exfoliation, to avoid color wearing off unevenly.
To keep your glow going, try using a gradual tan moisturizer like Invisible Color Gradual Tan Lotion, which will not only top up your tan but will keep skin ultra-hydrated, thanks to nourishing Argan, Coconut, Macadamia and Grapeseed Oils.
