spray tan virgin? ????
Spray tan virgin? ???? Don’t worry, we’ll be gentle. Although fake tanning can seem a little (a lot) insane at first, knowing what to expect and how to prepare will take you leaps and bounds towards being a B.U.B (bronzed up b*tch) in no time.
- Give your appointment time some thought
Getting a tan first thing in the morning may seem like a good idea… but we (almost) guarantee you the postman is going to knock while you’re sitting butt naked in your lounge room letting your tan dry. That’s just how this crazy world works.
Instead, book your appointment for an evening slot, giving you the whole night to look after your tan while the colour develops with little to no interruptions.
- Get your Scrub On
Use b.tan’s “tan. go. away.” Coffee body scrub, contrary to the name it is an excellent exfoliant to use prior to your tan. Exfoliating 24 hours before your appointment will remove any dead skin cells and create the ideal surface for your tan. Trust us, you’ll notice the difference.
- There is a Dress Code
Yeah your white sun dress is cute, but it’s not going to be so cute if you wear it home after your spray tan. It is ideal to wear something that is dark and loose around your body. Avoid bras or any other tight fashion pieces as they can cause some serious tiger stripes.
- When we say Birthday Suit, we mean Birthday Suit
When you tan (spray tan or self tan) you want to make sure that your skin is “au natural” . That means no moisturisers, oils, sunblocks, deodorants, or perfumes on the day of your tan. And that includes your face too! Try and refrain from wearing any makeup before your tan. All these things can block your tan from developing properly, even if you rinse right before your tan.
- Peace Love and no Shower
You’ve made a commitment and now it’s time to let it develop. Slowly, beautifully, your tan will become a serious tan over the next few hours (or however long you’ve opted to leave it on for) so avoid water at all costs! Once you’re ready to rinse, hop in a luke warm shower and rinse until the water is clear. Don’t scrub or use body wash/ soap yet- leave that till the next day. After hopping out, rub yourself down with your favourite moisturiser to lock in the tan and keep your skin happy.
- Happy Skin = Happy Tan
If you want to keep that bronzed and babin look for as long as possible, keep your skin as hydrated as possible. Buttery smooth skin will maintain a glowing colour for a longer period of time, so making sure full body moisture is a part of your routine will be a huge plus for your tan.
